Didn't Start Car For 7 Months!!

Any help here would be greatly appreciated. I am in the Military and recently came back from a 7 month deployment. I left directions for my wife to start my 1993 RX7 twice a week but she failed to do that. When I came home I changed the oil and gave it a shot. It imediately started but then shut down. Since then I have not been able to get it to start. I really don't know where to start, I am deeply concerned that the engine is siezed up... Like I said any help I can get from this forum will be greatly appreciated.

If the engine was seized up it would fail to even rotate the engine and the starter would probably make a bunch of rapid clicks. Sitting for only 7 months won't seize an engine, unless it had absolutely no oil in it when you left.

The first thing I would check is the fuel pump and the fuel pressure. Sounds like it has enough fuel to start it but not enough constant supply to keep it running.

How do i go about checking the fuel pump? I have been thinking that it might be a fuel issue but I wasn't sure. One thing I have noticed is that no matter how many times I try to start it I don't smell any gas fumes under the hood. One thing that I have noticed is that the engine oil has a heavy smell of gasoline.... Is this normal?

Possibly old gas/water in the gas/flooding

After sitting, several things could have happened:
1. The gas lost some of its volatility and may prevent starting/running properly
2. Water may have condensed in the tank due to its not being full while stored

Both of these would need the tank to be drained and the system run enough to purge water/old gas from the injectors.

3. It may have just randomly stalled due to who knows what, and is now flooded.
4. All of the above.

I also doubt that it is seized, unless it won't crank. A heavy smell of gas in the oil could be a sign of severe flooding. Search - there are many flooding (and how to overcome it) threads.

I am (possibly) in the same boat, about to get back from my tour to Afghanistan and my car really hasn't been driven, but for maybe two days, since I left the states in Feb.

I started a thread in the 'General Rotary Tech Support' section focusing mainly on old gas. Feel free to check it out if you wish: https://www.rx7club.com/general-rotary-tech-support-11/fuel-tank-how-long-too-long-686680/ not sure if it will really help you out or not, but I figure it can't hurt.
