I deleted my ABS and found that spot to be a good place for a coolant pressure tank. I built it out of 3/16" 6061 and copied the outlet size that Mazda used for the AST (small .083" hole limiting flow). I used weld on 6AN fittings with push on fittings and a weld on pressure cap. Seems to work well and really simplified the whole system.
The filler neck is an S7 (no bolt on cap mount) I plugged the forward nipple and utilized the 3/8" NPT plug for a 6AN 90.

Very clean. Very nice. But I always question why people are removing the ABS? Are they able to outbrake (threshold braking) the ABS system?
Surely tire lockup is not an improvement?

Haha, thanks- steal away I was surprised not to see a similar idea done. Most German cars run a pressure tank similar to this that's where I got the idea from.
There are lots of loooong threads debating ABS removal, I'm not here to debate that-
For me the ABS pump was leaking all over, I've had cars in the past without ABS and much prefered the feel. I've also removed the a/s and p/s and am building somewhat of a simplified car for nice weather/track driving only. I mounted a odyssey PC925 in place of the a/c and p/s too.
