Defi Super Sports Cluster...new product release in Japan

Remember the R-Magic dashboard instrumentation thread a while back.

https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...ghlight=RMagic

Well....

Defi is currently in development of a gauge cluster called the "Super Sports Cluster". BTW, this may be old news to the guys in Japan.

It does sit funny in the picture. But it is much more modern looking when compared to the STACK gauge. Thought it was neat,...so I am sharing the info....

Here is Defi's Japan website. No info on the US website yet. You'll have to scroll down to see the product.

I don't know, I think the stock FD Gauge Cluster is arguably the BEST looking gauge cluster EVER. That's why rather then throwing gauges all over the interior I just replaced the units in the dash with VDO gauges.

In all honestly, I think that Defi unit looks like of tachy...

I would assume that it's a complete replacement for stock gauges. The Motec and STACK gauges are also stand-alone units.

I'd take an S2000 cluster over any other those any day. The cool thing is that they're actually not that hard (well, not that impossible) to convert to other applications.

Any one else notice those Red backlit BF gauges? I wonder if they plan to release/sell them... I'd definitely get it to match the rest of the gauges at night.

EDIT: on another note...does anyone have a picture of a STACK display mounted in the stock FD cluster space? always wondered how that would look.

Maybe its just me

The DEFI one is news to me, looks a lot like the STACK one I have seen before though that JIMLAB mentioned above. I saw someone else making it I think at autosalon, but I dont remember it being DEFI I think I skipped them this year. Cool though, but kind of cheeze to be in front of the other original cluster though?

In regards to the mounting position in the picture, I'm sure that they just installed it in front of the original cluster due to time constraint reasons. You can mount it in the proper dash position given a bit of time...

Here are the red BF gauges

Direct text translation of the red BF Gauges:
"The invar lead-lead of Defi-Link Meter BF The invar lead version whose demand is many in the Defi-Link Meter BF series of large popularity was made on an experimental basis."

I'm assuming that "invar lead-lead" actually means "infrared".

me too!

But I Saard makes a gauges cluster that replaces the stock gauges not sits in front of them. The price for the whole setup is around $1,500.

The white-font BF are extremely easy to see at night, but I imagine the red will not be.

Also, why not offer them in SAE units? I am sick of looking at bar, personally.

here are some links for the defi gauges....the first one shows the bf model and shows whats entailed with having these gauges...they are quite expensive...they are between $2-300 for each gauge...plus u have to buy the modules to run the gauges...prob lookin for 3 gauges and the modules running u up to $1000...def worth it though...awesome gauges saw them at hot import nights miami this past weekend...in the TEIN booth....

I'm looking for info on the Gauge Cluster, not the gauges.
Was it canceled or what? I don't see anything about it on Defi's US or Japanese sight.
