Dealing with Pineapple.

Dealing with Pineapple.
Well, it all started today by just wanting to pickup a couple gallons of Evans at Robs shop. No big deal. On my way out the door, i remember a broken exaust stud on my stock twins. I figure i'll ask Rob what he thinks the best way of removal would be. (Without using a cutting torch. ) Anyways, when i get there not only does he give me advice on how to make a little guide that will slip over the remaining stud, and allow me to drill a straight hole through the remainder of the stud...but he goes to the lathe and actually makes it for me! Another hour or so of drilling with a left handed bit....the stud finally comes out. Let me tell you...that thing did not want to come out. After that he taps it for me, puts a new exaust stud in there, and lets me use his parts washer. All i can say is, its very cool to have someone who will spend some time with you over a dinky little project that realy does'nt amount to any real profit for him. Its pretty cool that he's not just one of those big project only guys. Not to mention, it was awesome seeing some of the forum members motors in there, and seeing all of his work.
Hopefully this fall, my FD engine will be in there for a freshen up with a healthy port. Later, CJ

NYC's Loudest FD
I live in NY and sent my motor cross country to have it rebuilt by Pineapple. Why do you ask?, well Rob always returned my phone calls, answered all my questions,
and is very professional, not to mention very meticulous with his work, that my friends is hard to find. He also listened to what I was doing, and helped lead me in which direction to go with what I wanted and my expectations. (No wonder he's on a 6 month wait right now) Anyone that's considering sending your motor to Pineapple to get rebuilt, trust me you won't be dissapointed.

This is one shop that I have never heard anything bad about. I see them as great engine builders and what not. Where some companys can do it all, just the customer service lacks. You bet I'am sending my motor there. Anybody have a site to them?

My friend had rob build him a stage2 with mild street-port for his GSL-SE. The motor is great, and rob was tons of help and spent alot of time on the phone with my friend helping him decide on what to get.
Please tell me hes not really backlogged 6 months????

It's great to hear that there are some honest vendors/mechanics out there in the automotive market that actually care more about people than the money. Occasionally outfits like this pop up through frustrations with the lack of integrity of the market. I've dealt with so many shitty people in the automotive market that if I didn't have a different direction in my life and was really interested in cars, I'd open up a shop. Little by little the industry can be corrected. The good news is that my brother will probably open up a shop within the next couple of years, so the world will have another genuine human being who actually cares about people and doing things correctly in what's probably the shadiest legal industry. They're a lot harder to find than you think.

Start to (almost) finished every aspect of my experience with Rob and the others at Pineapple has been outstanding. I wouldn't worry about the wait, he will work with you to fit your project into his schedule. He got mine done so fast I haven't had as much time as I'd hoped to get the rest of the car in as good a shape as the engine will be

If anyone ever asks for my opinion on Shops, it's either my local shop SevenSpeed, or Pineapple for a good rebuild.
