Well you look like you should have retired already. School has been hard on you! j/k
If you can invest the money and keep it there, then do it, but it's hard. There are always major expenses cropping up. I'm just saying if you do invest it, stay committed to keeping it invested.

I'm sure that's a lot easier said than done.

Hearing what happened to you, has me worried also.
In the summer if I turn my car off and not run the fans (usually just sit in the car for 2-3 with the engine off but AC turned on to run the fans on high) the low coolant light will come one when I restart it. The coolant ends up in the overflow, but the car can never seem to suck it back when it cools and pulls a vacuum on the system.
Don't know if your car just got hotter then mine or if your rad cap is weaker and it blew out more coolant. I know this has been talked about a lot already...

As for keeping the car, put a new engine in and keep it. It doesn't take that long.

You have a blockage in the O-f tank outlet, or in the line from the O-F tank to the AST (or to the relief cap if you don't have an AST). Also, the cap itself could be bad and not allowing coolant to be sucked back to the engine.

It would be nice to hook up an aux. electric water pump on this car (like they do on a some of the VW VR6 setups) that would turn on after the car is shutdown. Though, this would just add even more failure points.

I really think this would increase the life of the coolant seals, if one were able to make this setup work. Though, there would be more failure points with a new pump, wiring, etc.

sell it, it's a great idea you have...seriously
sometimes in life you can't snap out of phases until it's just snatched away from you...in other words the decision is made for you (this is sometimes good sometimes bad but you just have to deal with it)

does that make sense? it's maybe good this happened because you would have kept it for a while otherwise and put more into it. See what it's like without it, lots of other fun stuff to do if you ask me. I still miss my Fds when I see other ones but I've picked up another car and I'm keeping my mind off of it with other stuff ; )

BTW not sure how much your wheels are worth but in the other parts if you sold them and got stock parts to replace them you could make an extra 1k like that and sell it stock with a blown motor for 8k prob depending on the miles

The first thing I actually thought of was why did the engine overheat...Id be talking with rotary power

he's owned several italian cars and when i started with the company, an FD, which he sold about a year after i joined the company. at the age of 40 he wished that he had not played so much and invested the money he made. all he had to show for ithe vehicles were memories and that doesnt take his kids through college. he said looking back he wished he had saved the cash and retired early.

so theres another way to look at it.

is all about how you manage your finances, for me i will do a major upgrade on my car every 2 years as this time range is going to be enough for me to invest and expand my investment portfolio and also my return for tis 2 years will give me sufficient funding to do all the upgrades that i wanted.

Well, I started my portfolio today. So far, so good. The sale of the FD would just mean that I no longer have anything that I will have to constantly sink money into. My wallet isn't burning for the money, so I am in no hurry to make decisions out of haste. If I did deicde to keep it, I could definitely afford it with ease, but I really don't know if it's worth it (financially/emotionally). Now that the redhead with ***** is out of my life, having the redhead with wheels leave would result in me being "financially free". It's tempting, we shall see what the outcome is.

Heatsoak.
Most cars heat up when they are turned off before they cool down.
