damn ast radiator cap hell a piss me off
damn ast radiator cap hell a **** me off
Can you guys believe it, i got off work to go start my car to go home when the damn add coolant light came on instantly. I was like hell no. I immediately thought there's no way. I've been running the parking lights to trigger the fan, letting it cool down with hood up, and still this. I opened the radiater cap and saw the level of coolant went down, so i'm thinking there's no pressure or a leak somewhere. So i try to open the ast cap. The damn red pressure reliever stick broke on me. I was then thinking, that's why my car has been running a little sluggish lately. It must of been getting ready to break till now. Damn cheap *** POS radiator cap(CST brand). I couldn't believe it, i only had the damn cap for 8 months and it's broke. I went and had my wife go buy me a new Stant one. Put it on and it ran so much more smoothly. Has this happened to anyone? I was lucky the damn thing didn't break while i was driving and leaked all my coolant out. I'd overheat and have to do another rebuild. I just got a rebuild 10 months ago due to an overheat causing bad o-rings. That was due to my busted ast, which i replaced with a pettit when i did the rebuild. Damn is it just me or stuff like this happens to you too?
Remove the AST system as most serious owners have done. This is a very-very old topic. Most of the Houston owners have done this without any problems down here in heat hell.

I think if anyone bought an FD knowing what they were getting into...they're "serious"
