what side of the lens do you paint on, inside or outside?

YOU PAINT ON THE INSIDE OF THE LENS.

I am gonna start on my conversion tonight. i will take pics as i go with my 4meg camera. so maybe it will help some of you. probable take me 2 days cause i go slow and do things right. most of my friends call it **** or ocd but my car always looks nicer.

i painted the outside of mine and so does the instructions. but i mean the outside of the orange and red lens not the clear plastic

You can't do it properly on the "inside of the lens" because that surface is gridded with light refracting sections. By "lens", as ^he said, we're referring to the colored plastic portion emitting the light, not the clear plastic lens cover.
