Daily Driver went down while FD is being fixed
Ya know it never fails....
I decided to get the FD a good once over and some brakes, downpipe, oil pan brace and reseal, ast delete, fuel filter reloaction and a myriad of other odds and ends to the tune of $5K or so.
Since I have 3 cars I figure I'm safe to take the FD off the road for a few days/weeks right? WRONG
Friggin starter seized up on my 99 G20. Now I'm rolling w/wife and 2 kids in my 01 Mustang GT. Definitely not what that car was made for. I figured I would try and get a new starter in before dark yesterday. NOPE, the nice inifiti engineers decide to hide the starter at the back of the block on top of the trans. Since it was already dark and starting to rain I knew I was screwed. I needed it back tonight, so STS did it for me.
Sorry Guys just venting

I would've attempted it if the FSM had better instructions than remove 2 14mm bolts and take starter out DUH!
After thinking about it, I could've removed the tranny brace and rear motor mount. That probably would've given me enough room to reach it, but there was no way to get a wrench or socket on it without that. Couldn't even see it, or touch it otherwise

I did a honda starter in the snow. It was rather easy actually. Almost as easy as an oil change.
But if that was me, id put the car aside until nice weather rolled along. I really dont like taking any of my cars to a shop unless i REALLY have to. Meaning lack of equipment or tools to use.
