Yes it will. You just need to modify 1 connector and lengthen the coolant temp sensor wire. My car runs fine with a JDM harness

At least the '92-95 JDM harnesses should work fine. The later harnesses are quite different.

BTW, that's good to know about the JDM harness.

I think you should just paint it VR, and throw in some tan seats.

You should be able to determine the year by deciphering the VIN stamped on the firewall, right?

If it's a US car, it was made 93-95. In Japan, they started as model year 92, and made the cars until 2002. Model year 96 in Japan was an update, as was model year 99. Think of the update like the '89 update for the FC's - some cosmetic changes, underhood changes, etc. In '96 they went to the 16-bit ECU with the black control box under the intake manifold - the wiring is TOTALLY different, and the ecu plug is totally different.

The engine you bought is a 92-95.It has the old y-pipe instead of the "newer" that came for 96+ engines.Also,please check everything before you put it to the cym.It will be a pita to take it out and in again.When i bought a jdm one,i removed everything to a short block state,checked almost everything,did the hose job,cleaned the injectors,etc,and still after the installation to the car,a few minor probs came up....(but a 8.8 compression :-) ).

Buy a new radiator support, it isn't that expensive and getting the old one off the car will screw it up more than it is worth.

CYM = Competition Yellow Mica, Mazda name for that yellow.
VR = Vintage Red
MB = Montego Blue (looks green to me)
BB = Brilliant Black
SS = SilverStone or SSM = SilverStone Metallic

I haven't seen many people refer to the white FDs with a 2 letter abbreviation but it is called "Chaste White" IIRC.
