Talking CYM With 952 Miles for $35K -> ROFL

Has done 165mph, has 360hp, and is a daily driver with 952 Miles on the clock !?

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...y&cardist=1444

PRICE REDUCED TO: $25,900 http://www.happydaysclassics.com/Mazda_RX7 PLEASE VISIT MY WEBSITE FOR ALL THE DETAILS. Set up for the track but run daily on the street, this beautiful example of the Mazda 3rd Generation RX-7 is the best of both worlds. Powerful and agile, yet comfortable and composed, this car works wonderfully on curvy country back roads, long high-speed interstate runs, or competitive track events. With 360 Hp pushing only 2800 pounds (wet, plus driver), acceleration is impressive but it's been set up for overall sports car performance. My RX-7 will do 0-60mph in 4.2 seconds and will run just under 11.5 seconds for the quarter mile as it quickly surpases120mph! Ive reached a top speed with still a bit to go of 165mph. This car will lay you back in the seat, especially when in 2nd gear as that second turbo kicks in. Be prepared to feel a full 1.+ lateral g of force! The suspension is firm and adjustable while cornering is unbelievable. The brakes are very strong, quick, and fade resistant. The car is still happily streetable, idles contently, and handles stop-and-go traffic with ease. It has been my daily driver, garaged at home and covered at work. Definitely a must-see! PLEASE VISIT MY WEBSITE FOR ALL THE DETAILS. The web address is case sensitive (best to copy & paste) http://www.happydaysclassics.com/Mazda_RX7

No wonder he needed a new engine... I didn't find "intercooler" listed anywhere on his modifications page.

This is also classic...

Pansy.

I hope he's talking about 1/4 miles, because those stockers aren't going to do anything after a few laps on a road course other than fade. . .

Hi res pics are GREAT.

Overspray behind front bumper.

The "pinch weld" below the rocker panels should be painted black.

The fender liner tab, front fender just behind centerline of the wheel is painted yellow.

Just from ONE PIC you can tell this is one cheap *** repaint.

With 360 Hp...My RX-7 will do 0-60mph in 4.2

(Please note the stock intercooler in the pics.)

With all the photos he's got, it's interesting that he claims 360HP, but there is no dyno sheet.

I have seen 'Potential Odometer Rollback' listed on several Carfaxes. They are usually caused by someone incorrectly entering the current mileage at a service facility or at the DMV. It is possible that this car had 50k miles put on it between 4/2002 and 9/2003 but a more likely expanation is that the mileage was incorrectly entered on 8/2002.

Still, this car is not worth even half of his asking price.

Not to mention the "air splitter" in front. Cheap *** paint job is right!

Wow.. I like how he over-exxagerated the price of everything on his "mods" page..

June-00 $500.00 Valentine 1 Radar/Laser Locator

a new v1 is $399..

December-01 $135.00 MagnaCore 10mm Spark Plug Wires

off pettit's website..

3G Magnacore 10mm Plug Wires
Price: $74.95

March-03 $5,000.00 Complete Custom Exterior Paint

He paid 5k for a paintjob.. and there's overspray and all the other problems with it listed above??

The list goes on.. anyways the guy is a huge bs'er and his car wont sell for nearly 25k.

EDIT:

October-02 $200.00 Custom Yellow Brake Calipers
WTF? 200 bucks for a can of brake caliper paint?

October-02 $600.00 Custom Yellow Interior Dash
???? 600 bucks for yellow interior plastic paint?!

Wow....

Ok......

I may be comletely wrong but a car capable of an 11.5 sec quarter mile should do at least 180 mph. My low 14 second AT 93 has done 155 mph with "a bit to go".
Anyway please be careful and avoid doind such high speeds on public roads.
(Do as I say not as I do, damnit! ) Seriously though

What do you mean? Aren't CYM oversprayed oil coolers a bonus? Maybe he was just trying to match his interior.

Pettit lists 360 RWHP for their TKT "package" and a lot of people think that if they have roughly the same modifications, they not only have 360 RWHP, but they also have a TKT. In fact, some of the old timers might remember just such a misunderstanding on the RX-7 list several years ago.

Not sure where he got the TKT floor mats, but it's my understanding that a true TKT comes with a "diploma" from Pettit and all the work is done at their facility, not pieced together over several months. If he had his interior panels painted CYM, he probably had the TKT stitched on his floor mats because it's the "classy" little touches that really make or break a car.

The sad thing is that someone will probably end up paying $18-19k for it just because it's a "CYM R1" and they don't know any better.

FWIW, his paint code (J9) is correct, and it doesn't look like the door jamb stickers have been replaced. It looks like it's a genuine CYM R1... a genuinely BEAT DOWN CYM R1, but still a genuine CYM R1.
