Custom kick plate?
Custom kick plate?
Aside from carbon fiber, anyone ever customize the kick plates on the door sill? Mine are kinda cruddy looking I was thinking about getting them powder coated or something, can you powder coat aluminum?
Sure can. That would be a pretty cool looking idea.
I have a set of the CF ones and they look really good and have held up great. I imagine powder coat would do well there.
I also tried wrapping with vinyl once, turned out OK but my vinyl skills weren't on point. But, that is another option.

Anodizing is a bit more specialized where most every town has a shop that does powder coating. Also I think powder coating is more durable. The scuff plates stock have a clear anodized finish and you see how well that holds up

Well nuts are rubber plugs with a metal insert - when you tighten the screw the rubber swells and holds it in place. Works very well.
The scuff plates have to be removable to be able to remove the kick panel in the floor boards.

This might be a dumb question, but do they normally not come with the kick plates as I have? You said they have you drill two holes, which says to me they don’t come like that, jw
