thanks guys. The couplers are from a 2nd gen GSX. Its the stock piping that i had laying around that i cut to fit. They are a really thick ruber with a nylon type weave over them. ive never had ne blow off problems since i put the t-bar clamps on. Mind u the piping has no nipple ridge on the end of them. Im right in the 15lbs. range with a 40r sized turbo. Its about an 88 exducer on the cold side. I had thought bout the ducting idea but i just dont have the money yet fot the aluminium sheet stock yet so.... Thanks for the input tho. I knew i was gonna have some cooling issues so. I havnt had it out on the highway yet so we shall see how she does. This weekend will teach me alot. This is all on.... ready for this. Stock ports, fuel and.... wait for it..... COMPUTER. I wanna see how far i can go before it starts gettin to lean. It is a 3mm Atkins motor tho.

sheet metal is not that expensive, you can get engouh sheet metal from ACE hardware or Homedepot for around $50, and you can save money by doing it yourself, use carboard paper and cut it to fit then transfer it on the the sheet metal, you can use rivit or bonts to secure it in place.

you're running a large single turbo @15psi with no computer? I can tell you how far you will get with that, you're 5 psi over the stock computers hardwired boost threshhold. You do know the cost of an experiment like this is a blown engine right?
When i first did my single setup i did it in stages, i did upgrade to a PFC but the fuel system was stock. I broke the engine in with this setup. then i tried to run wastegate pressure and my injector duty was hitting 97% on 11 psi! So i can tell you from experience that setup will not work at all.
EDIT: Also you're ignition timing will most likely be too advanced on the stock ignition for a single turbo. And the fuel maps will just be all wrong for making power. 3mm seals still brake. I commend you for doing things cost effective, but an engine will cost you more then the required mods to go single. they are not optional items, especially over 10 psi. An air filter is a really good idea too, nothing wears an engine out like having sand and dirt pumped into it by a big turbo.

Okay So heres the deal.
The car see's almost no road time as of now. the wideband still says im in the 11.2 range. Mind u this is with stock intercooler. once the car is back to being drivable ill post results.
I am well aware of the consquences. The point of this build is to see haow far i can go. im hitting the fuel cut at the very top of second at 15psi. my plan is to see bout 12ish if i can get this damn controller to work again. its already faster then my vette and that made 340ish. granted my vette weighs in at 3176 and the FD as it sits weighs in at bout 2860. last time i checked it. Its not just a little faster it a good bit faster.
i trust my wide band more than any tool or nose or ear that nebody has so we shall see. The car has already done more than i ever thought it would. and believe me when i say if it even creeps to the 11.8 12.0 range i will not go any further.
Thanks for the input guys keep it coming. Ill try to put some more pics up and info tomorrow morning.

Oh Yeah and as for cost of FMIC setup... Im in the 450 buck range with bout 15-20 hours of work fab and design. Not to shabby huh. Way better than 2600 for the greddy 3row. Not to mention. I did the setup the way i wanted it.

Yeah i agree. Im in the process of figuring out the filter issue soon. I had the car out this week and im happy to report... She flies. Boost comes in at 48ish now. and shes way more responsive. But i have come to the conclusion that i need a computer. And thats for 1 reason only. Im annoyed with the fuel cut issue. The AFR's r still within safe operation but the bosst controoler just isnt working right. Im starting to think that my waste gate just ist big enough. i post pics of the finished job tommorow after i wash her and put the fog lights back in.
