I've seen some people use these sleeves for their piping...

Very intresting and different, looks good though. Does this serve as a performance purpose or is it just some eye candy?

How about the scoop ducted right to the IC through a custom rear window? I think that is the coolest part.

Less heat soak in comparison to aluminum if it is pure CF?

I'm positive its metal piping with CF sleeves.. Just for looks.. no way its going to hold up w/ pressure from the clamps.. Unless its multiple layers of CF... which in case you cant pull the mold out because of the shape.. and no one will spend that much time to build custom IC piping made out of CF..

You can make them out of CF if you make the mold.

To make the insides hollow like normal piping you make the inside diameter mold out of a water soluble material. I forget what it's called Aquahold or Aquafirm or some **** like that.

Then after you've made it and waxed it and layed the CF and resined it and all that crap, you just dissolve the mold holding up the inside of the pipe. With water of course.

Awful lot of trouble for CF pipes that as already mentioned will probably not hold up under pressure.

Besides, what is the weight savings of CF over AL, 2oz?

Not worth it.

Carbon fiber piping (sleeve type) was discussed before as being used for the intake pipes. It would look good, but maybe too much CF. I would rather have a carbon fiber M2 intake and IC duct with everything else, like the piping polished. Just a personal preference.
