Crossmember under cat/midpipe

i have a megan racing downpipe and midpipe (with a PFS cat-back) and the midpipe has no hangar and just kinda rests on this little crossmember thing, i wrapped the member in header wrap so as to dampen any rattle but i was wondering first of all how important the member is (if i were to run without it till i could get a friend of mine to weld a hangar to it) or what things you all did to solve this problem (from my searching it seems alot of midpipes dont have hangars)

never had a problem with it banging or touching.

also have a resonated midpipe, but the resonator is not near the cross member, if I recall correctly

its just resting on the crossmember, i had to push the pipe up with the member to get the member on.... the pipes shape seems perfect, it just hangs down =\
