Cool CronoMasamune's and Rx7Wishings Adventure.

Ok.. so.. CronoMasamune is looking into buying an FD and created This thread...https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generation-specific-1993-2002-16/testing-fd-tomorrow-363451/

Not wanting to see a potential 3rd gen owner get ripped off I volunteered my services. So... After a few emails back and fourth we exchange numbers and decide to meet at Ocean Breeze/Motorworld in Vabeach the next day at 1:30. After pulling off my UIM and replacing my coil packs the 7 is up and running by 1:00pm. CronoMasamune called me up around 12:30 and we met an hour or so later. As we drive into Mr. Fast and the furious neighborhood our jaws dropped at how bling bling the houses were. Anyhow we found the house without any problems and this CLEAN Rx7 was sitting out front. So we get out and walk on over to the Rx7 and we both are like....wow.. this is in awesome condition for having 200K miles on it.. Well, I guess Mr. Fast and Furious saw us looking at the car and comes out and greets us, We introduced ourselves and he asked me a few questions about my 7 ( had the hood popped cause I was having mad boost issues..go figure).

After bullshitting for a few mins I took out the boost gauge and had CronoMasamune fire up the 7. When he popped the hood my jaw dropped.. The guy had the car painted silver but left the door jams AND the engine bay RED! Anyhow. The car started right up and idled perfect. I attached the boost gauge to verify vacuum and it pulled 17 1/2 inches. So I said "good vacuum, that’s a good sign" I then rig the boost gauge so I can see it while we test drive. After doing so I asked the guy if he had all the paper work on the rebuild. He replies and says "no it was done almost 2 years ago and I miss-placed it" so I let out a kind of..hmmph.. he then says "ba ba ba but I can try and get it for you if you REALLY need it". he then says.. "yea...uhh when I had it in the shop I had them replace the Heads because one of the seals was bad".. by then me and CronoMasamune looked at each other and were holding back from busting out laughing.. I looked at the guy and was like.. really.. that’s good. So I sit in the 7 and the interior smelled like it sat in the ******* bottom of a swimming pool for 5 years then sat in the sun for a week.. Smelled like PURE mildew! I asked the guy if the car was ever flooded and he said "no, ma ma my garage just smells funny". I questioned him about the rebuild and asked how many miles he put on it. He said that he put 1500 miles on the rebuild. I was like wow, that’s not that many miles for having a rebuild 2 years ago. He said that he only drives it to work and back. ( yea ******* right. before he told us that he said he lives about 20 miles from where he works. Now you do the math 1500 miles on rebuild......750 miles a year put on engine..... 20 miles to work and back everyday...what a shyster)

The 6 thousand dollar stereo

His supposed 6 thousand dollar stereo system was actually an OLD *** POS sony deck and a half assed Band pass box with 2 10's I believe. he also had 2 6x9''s. DEFINETLY not ANYWHERE near 6 grand.. Not even near 500 bucks...

Since I was more experienced with 3rd gens I was asking all the questions before CronoMasamune got down to business with the guy, I was just ensuring that this wisent some bonked 3rd gen ( as I was already convinced it was). ANYWAY! I took the car for a test drive and the car made 1 whole pound of boost. Also BOTH front wheel bearings were shot, and it felt/sounded like his bushings were wasted. I was literally scared to floor it because of this. So I turn around (while the car shook and made all types of moaning and groaning noises) and headed back to the guys house. I asked the guy if he had the turbos rebuilt/replaced when he had the engine done. "No"(wow 200K on stock turbos)... I then informed him of the problems I felt with the car and his excuse was "remember, the car has a stock exhaust".. by then me and CronoMasamune had it with the guy’s bullshit and I came right out and told him he wouldn’t be able to sell it for 15,000 bucks.. I guess he took offense to that ( oh well, **** him.) and he was like "its ok, ill find someone to buy it for that". CronoMasamune and myself chuckled out loud and said good luck. and drove off.. we get half way down the road and just started Laughing our asses off on how bad the guy was trying to bullshit us. So.. I’m glad to say I was able to help a potential rx7 owner AVOID a bad deal

Next time Ill bring a video camera =p. This guy was ****** clueless. Youd think he'd atleast know SOMETHING about the car, having owned it since 95! While RX7Wishing was out driving the car, I asked why he had the car repainted silver. "Oh well I just wanted to be like James Bond." WTF? He kept mentioning that the car has stock exhaust so it wasnt gonna run right. Sure, 200k miles on the cats might make it run shitty, but this guy was just trying to dick somebody over.
