crane cam wiring hookup

i had a question for anyone that has ever installed a crane cam amp on an fd...for the negative wire on the harness that hooks up to the stock coil there is another wire that comes over it maybe half or a quarter inch down that makes the wire thicker and is another wire in itself from what i can tell...i wanted to know if you also hook up the metal wiring you get from splicing a wire to the wiring for the negative wire on the harness and then to the amp because i did and now my car bogs more than ever and i'm about to just splice the outer covering and wire out of the way and just tape it up...also i wanted to know if anyone did the blue wire fix with the newer amps that has you hook up the blue wire to the thinner red one that's connected to the stock coil harness...another thing i was wondering was that i'm running 2 msd coils for the leading coil and the stock tower plugs didn't fit so i had to cut and splice the thick wires and make another tower plug...these wires are like the spark plug wires for any car and i cut out the thicker insulation around the thin black wire but i didn't splice the thin black wire because it was so thin...i was wondering if any spark gets out of the coil if just the thick layer is removed and the thin black wire is wrapped over it and the metal piece for the tower plug is just put over it...thanks alot...
