Coolant Pressure testing

I was wondering if anybody out there is familiar with performing this test. The reason why I ask is thet I have recently tested the system presure in my car under the impression that most likely my engine was leaking exaust into the coolant. After testing the pressure I am not sure. The system holds 16lbs and there are no obvious coolant leaks. When testing for the pressure in the system while the engine is running to find out if either the system has a blockage and is creating to much pressure or look for surging in the pressure from an exaust leak either way I am not able to achieve a full level of coolant in the system and it continues pushing out coolant resivour when ever the car is stopped. The thermostat and both caps have been replace in the last month. If anyone out there could help It would be much appreciated.

You have a new thermostat (installed properly I assume)
You have new caps
Your fans are working
You pressure tested the system and have no leaks

The ONLY other things I can think of are:
A) Clogged waterway in engine
B) Clogged rad
C) Defective thermostat
D) Caps not sitting right

I CAN'T think of anything else that could be wrong!

You are telling me since the first post I have put in a new ast and cap combo and the blacklight dye to try to narrow it down hav not had time to try to bleed it off completely. The only thing that I saw was that everything under the hood glows weird colors looks like one of those tacky felt blacklight posters. well I will keep looking ?
