cracked seal or fouled plug

my ecu is running me rather rich and after soem hard runs my car refuses to idle well. it sits at about 600rpms sounds like its running on 1 and a half rotors and reeks of gas. its driveable though, and damn fast, it just wont idle. so did i chip/crack a seal or did i foul a plug or even something else?
thanks

Check your map sensor. Have you bumped it lately?

you can check the plugs/map sensor but if you think its a cracked seal stop driving it before it gets real expensive(apex seals destroy housings, rotors, turbos)

I kinda have the same problem going on with mine. Is the idle fluctuating and are you getting smoke. Mine is running really really rich and I get lots of black smoke reeking of fuel. We think it is a stuck open injector, so I'm in the process of replacing all my injectors now.

Check your injectors if your smelling gas, cause if they're leaking you have a serious problem that you need to fix pronto. This may be causeing your idle problem too, cause I had the same problem.

Keep in mind that if one of the "cylinders" had a cracked apex seal, the gas and air will not compress correctly and will cause a rich like smell/feel.

Most of the time it's the rear that goes, so, a cheap, quick, not 100% like the real mazda compression tester, way to check is to crank it over and listen for even pops. Any evidance of a weak or weak pops is usually an apex seal. Usually you'll hear one good followed by two weaker pops on a nuked engine. You can do the poor-mans compression test with the shraeder alve removed also. Look for a variance in the compression readings. Do the same for the front if the rear checks out.
