Most people only run that battery because their intercoolers won't fit with a regular full-sized battery. Stick with your Optima.

Ramy,

All is good, but don't confuse a bad product with bad usage. I know you stand behind your products, however that doesn't stop them from being misused. Look at push lawn mowers today. All them have the "safety bar" which you hold down up at the handle to keep the mower going. Why? Well, because some bright guy many years ago decided to use his mower to trim his hedges. He ended up cutting off a few fingers. Now, this had nothing to do with the sales person or the company that made the mower. It was all in the person mis-using it.

However, it was never stated that you couldn't use the mower to trim the hedges. This is also way 90% of the aftermarket parts say "for offroad use only". IMO, V-mounts are for "offroad use only". This example clearly demonstrates that (which is unfortunate for the OP).

Yeah, true Mahjik and I do agree with both of you. Though, the OP is one of very few who have had incidents with driving on the street with a vmount. Just bad luck if you ask me...

I think Mahjik brings up quite a few good points.

At the same time, as mentioned before (I think), it's all relative. The same thing as people lowering their cars; some people do nothing but bitch about how they crack their bumpers and scrape everywhere they go. But others are very happy with their setup, and you won't find a mark on their bumpers. I think it comes down to using judgement relative to the area you live in, how you drive, and how observant you are.

Are you serious?!?!

LOL I'll be sure to market it as an off-road use only modification that may withstand some slight on-road use

I agree...and while I know you live up north in NY, I can't understand HOW someone would own an FD in the more populated areas of NY...getting your car banged up (be it by the street or by other cars) is *inevitable!*

I also saw coolant dripping the sides so I'm assuming the fans mangled the underside of the radiator.

So now I ask you guys a question: WTF should I do about a replacement radiator for the RE V-mount? RotaryExtreme is out of business now and I don't know how to get in touch with Chuck. My FD is my daily driver and I'm really need to get a new one as soon as possible.

Does anyone have any advice? If anyone can get in touch with Chuck/RE for me or has a new RE radiator for sale, please send me a PM (or AIM) ASAP.

Thanks!
So what did you finally use as a replacement? Please let me know just in case this happens to anyone else in the future

sorry to hear about your radiator... looks like you were going a bit too fast over that pot hole. I tore my exhaust one time dodging a pot hole and a sewer cap scraped my belly. Just gotta slow down when you see one coming
