Some DSM guy is trying to tell me these facts about the 3rd gen rx-7.

-The R1 model came with 267 HP

- 8,500 came turbo, and 14,000 came non-turbo from '93-'95

I call bull **** on the second fact.

Not sure if the R1 really had more HP. I don't think so. I think they were limited to about 255 in Japan for all models. Japan will not allow factory cars to have anything over 275 hp, I think.

Those are both BS rumors

 

All US bound FD's had identical engine specs. And there was never a non-turbo FD from the factory sold to the public.

 

there was and has never been an 93 or newer rx7 without a twin-turbo sold from the factory. The only way possible for it to be non-turbo is if someone made it that way, for instance there is a 3 rotor normally aspirated 93 rx7.
