couple questions

I have a couple unrelated questions, I figured I'd just make one thread for both of them.

1) Does anyone know what pressure ranges our motors run at?

2) Does anyone have a picture of the electrical connector for the A/C compressor? I can't find any free connectors in that area for the life of me!

10 psi until 4500ish rpm, drops to 8 psi, climbs back to 10 by 8000 rpms.

the connector is on the battery/alternator harness, should be a small white spade connector IIRC. I havent had a/c in many years

Thanks a bunch. I installed the ast delete stuff, and started having a disappearing coolant problem, so I got a pressure tester, and look in the manual at what pressure my cap was supposed to be, and it said 16-20 psi. That got me wondering if my system was just over powering the 13 psi radiator cap. By the sounds of it, I'm good, though.

Ok, I'll look for it. Does anyone what color the wire is supposed to be?

Thanks again

I was talking about boost pressure from the turbos.....

GoodfellaFD3S was talking about the stock boost pattern, but it seems like you're talking about the cooling system pressure regulated by the radiator cap. Stock cap pressure is .9 bar (13lbs). There's a lot of aftermarket "peformance" radiator caps out there that are 1.3 bar (19lbs). There's pros and cons to running a high pressure radiator cap. Pro is that it will increase cooling effect from the radiator because the coolant has a chance to stay in there longer. Con is that it puts extra pressure on your water seals inside the engine. I wouldn't go with a 1.3 bar cap for a daily driver especially if it's been a long time since your last overhaul. I've been running a happy medium (1.1 bar/16lbs) for years and haven't had any problems with it.

As for the A/C compressor wire, IIRC the wire itself is a black 14-16 gauge wire with a white spade type connector.

Oops, I guess I forgot to say that I was meaning the cooling system. It took me a couple times of writing the question, then deleting it and starting over before I wrote that. Guess I need to proof read better.

Thanks.
