Is this 5 sp or automatic?? I'm assuming auto since I've never seen this 'hold' thing on my shift ****..

I know you said you did some search.. but you might want to do it again.. because with automatic, there are n't much you could do..


also, if its an auto... you can't add pfc.. smelling gas isn't normal..

The RX7 tranny is very good. Unless you are building a strict race car, there is no need to replace (unless you are doing an auto to 5sp swap).

There is no data supporting that it will "harm" anything. However, since there will not be that extra air below 3200 rpms without the airpump, the car will have more fumes at idle (and will not pass an emissions test).

It's quite normal to have a little gas smell from the oil.

I take my car to J&R aka SmokinJoesRacing.com. Talk to Joe, Lou or Roan to setup an appt. Tell them Al sent you. They built my engine and fixed a bunch of minor things for me and I consider them both honest and reliable.

Depends on the driver.

Stop reading that **** the stock tranny is fine if the car is driven properly.

For longevity, it is most widely acceptable that you need an air pump even with a high flow cat. Search for more information about which high flow cat lasts the longest. Check the newbie stickies too.

You probably have other issues besides the tranny such as a boost leak. Get your car into Joe's and have them check it out unless you have enough mechanical skills to do it yourself.

Somehow I doubt that. I don't smell gas in my oil filler neck. Try a rotary specialist to get a more educated opinion.

thanks for the info. just get a llittle nervous with these engines i went through one already and cant afford another one. and at the sametime i want to make it a little quicker and sound sexier. thanks for the info.
