Could really use some help with this..
Hey everyone,i'm experiencing a new problem with my FD.First of all,it's automatic if that helps any questions, and all my mods are in my sig.I just installed a new stereo in the car,it's a 4" touch screen lcd blah blah blah..So I installed it,and for some reason, everytime I step on the break, the bass from my 10" subwoofer cuts off..Only when I step on the break though. And now,my perfect 700-800 idle is now a consistend 100-200 idle..My vacuum hasn't changed though, still 12-16 in. on my Pettit built streetport.Could I possibly need a new fuel pump?Maybe ignition break-up?It's really strange..Can anyone offer any opions? It would be greatly appreciated!
I was reading a thread about this just the other day. I believe the problem was either a bad battery or an alternator.

How do you have your amp for your sub wired up? What gauge wire? I ran 4 gauge wires from the positive and negative terminals all the way back to my amp rack, running an Alpine V12 Expert pushing ~250 watts, and no problems. If you don't have some heavy wires to power things, you could be having the problems you describe. You COULD try running a 500 microfarad capacitor and seeing if it helps....though you shouldn't need it running a single 10" sub.

Thanks Bajaman.I'm actually already running 4 gauge wires, and you're right,I shouldn't need a capacitor running 1 10" subwoofer. But what's weird is that it's been perfectly fine for the last 6 months..Now,I did just recently install a new head unit, but like I said, the bass only turns off when I step on the break, leading me to believe that it might have something to do with voltage.I'll check the voltage on my battery and see if that points me in any directions..
