Cosmos Twins on FD..Possible?

I have been thinking of numerous ways to upgrade my stock twins. I might have a way to get a hold of a set of Cosmos twins.

Anybody have this set up running on their FD? I'll probably get the manifold with it too.

I was wondering if anyone knows if (Example A) I can just take my stock manifold and twins off and then replace it with the Cosmos set. I think I might have to get a custom downpipe fabricated if I do it that way....or (Example B) could I leave the manifold and swap out the turbos instead?

Right now, my setup is pretty basic....Intake/DP/Catback. Do I need to upgrade my ECU first before I can do this? Positively and absolutely later on I will also be adding an Efini Y-Pipe so I'd end up with a Power FC then.

I'm trying to figure out what I can do before I upgrade my ECU.

Thanks,
Jason

Jason

If I am not mistaken, Cosmo 13B-RE twins are smaller than stock FD twins. The reason is to spool up quicker since they are all automatic tranny vehicles. Cosmo 20B twins, I am not sure about. They may be larger, but not sure. Again, they are all automatics. They are not sequential (I think) also.

As I recall, The hitachi 12 somethng is on the FD and the Hitachi 10 something for the Cosmo compressors. Not sure exactly what the flow or stuff is. I just recall reading this. I did read that they do bolt up the same though.

Can anyone else verify this?

Tim you are not mistaken....cosmo twins would be a downgrade..cosmo 20b twins...still a downgrade.

Jason you are better off getting the 99 spec turbo...only about $3k

the HT12's on the FD have a 20% increase in flow capacity than the HT10's found on the cosmo

Ahhh, yes I agree. You definetely don't want to go down that route! That's why on Pettit's 20B conv. they take off the stock 20B and use the FD's
