When cruiseing down the highway the air flow should be enough so the fans do not come on. and I check to make sure they are spinning and my coolant is still full twice a week. An extra 5 minutes of them running is not going to kill them any faster than they would otherwise. My car was setup by Pettit, they have been in the game long enough to know what and what not to do. If they know what to do and know best then why are you bypassing the fan relays? Wouldnt they have done that?

My fans also do not run after the car is shut off, I do pop my hood when I get home to help it cool down but that is just something I do because I am always tinkering and want it to cool down faster.

My car doesn't get driven in evenings and the coldest it gets here is ~70, fans still come on after 5 minutes of driving.

When cruising down the highway I stay right at around 180 which is where the fans are on keeping it at that temp and in this heat I am seeing 190f.

I was commenting on pettit due to the fact you asked why would you want the to come on earlier since the factory has them set to come on at 108c, we all know the factory did everything perfect.

^ You dont drive your car at night? I love night driving.

Also, I did not say it was good to run the car too hot (ie:108c) I even posted arghx's response as to why the FC thermoswitch is beneficial. What I am trying to say is that to me it does not make sense to have the fans come on at 180F when the thermostat is just barely opening at that temp. Seems to me to wait until the thermostat is open more because IMHO it is pointless to try to keep the car at that low of a temp. Hence, when it is hot by you (95F ambient) it only gets down to 190f because the thermostat is still closed at temps below that.

Now I need a new plug...anyone have one and a few inches of wire off of it so I can hook this up?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the system is wired in a 'fail safe' mode. A broken wire results in the fans turning ON.
When I replaced my FD switch with the FC, the connector was not fully seated and the fans would come on as soon as the ignition switch went to on..... regardless of temperature

Not sure about that. Mine only comes on when inputs are added.

My fans are still the issue in stop and go traffice. I can not figure these stupid things out. I think I am only getting to medium speed on the fans. My temps went to 104C the other day and I pulled over and the fans were running on low??? I have the 97C FC Thermoswitch, the AC was on, and Power FC is set to 87C for the fans to come on. They should be on high, not barely running. Relays are in the stock location.

I tried the fan rewire mod to see if that would help the funs, but it does nothing but run the fans with the car off. The mod was tapping into the grounds of the top and bottom relays closest to the strut tower connected to a toggle switch to have your inputs increase by 1. (1 input would make medium, and 2 would be on high)

Any ideas?
