I use the coolingmist system on my supercharged 350Z because I am spraying a 75 shot of nitrous on top of the 12psi of boost. With a 50/50 mix of water/meth there was virtually zero knock count untill 6500rpms where my blower becomes extremely inefficient. I was so impressed that I'm putting it on my FD. With a fresh engine and good water/meth I think we will see far better longevity of the beloved 13B. I see all these conversions to V8 and yes they are sick! Imagine one that was supercharged or turbo'd, it would be insane! But I still love the rotary and it need every ounce of detonation protection it can get.

I've seen debate about in regard to using just wate, meth, combo..ect and all I can say is put your hand in just water and the other in 50/50 mix of water/alchohol and put the 2 hands infront of a blowing fan. The 50/50 mix leaves your hand much colder which makes a few basic points.

*Methanol has a motor octain of 115-120, burns fantastic as fuel, greatly reduces intake temps and just does a great job of raising the octain limit without having to use as much race fuel but remember more fuel more heat! Heat and detonation are a rotary's worst enemy and without water to rid/absorb you put your seals in greater danger

*Water, nothing prevents or eliminates detonation better than water. As mentioned above it's important to remember that water injection is different than general humidity. The water injection is not fully disolved in the air as is humidity. If you are using meth only injection you get lower intake temps, octain boost and more fuel. But at the same time you've done nothing to get rid of the extra heat you just added. Water does just that, it takes heat and removes it through exhaust. Another great thing about water injection is that it will give some level of protection from carbon deposits getting too hot causing some detonation. If you dial it in just right you won't gain or loose hp, but you will see lower knock count and you can bet your apex seals are thanking you.
