cooling fan issue
My 7 has overheated couple of times. I noticed that the passenger side fan is not coming on. Should both fans come on at the same time? I tested the relays. When looking at the relays from the passenger fenders the top left clicks not nothing turns on. I test the left bottom and the driver side fan comes on medium. Whats my next step on checking this fan. Could the relay be bad? Why wuld the passenger fan not work? Thaks

Download a copy of the wiring diagram, then you will be able to answer the question yourself.
Each fan has a four wire connector. The wires on the harness side of the connector are as follows:
Fan #1 (Passenger side)
Black - Ground
Yellow/White - Relay 1
Red/Yellow - Relay 2
Blue/Orange - Relay 3
Fan #2
Black - Ground
Yellow/White - Relay 1
While - Relay 4
Blue/Orange - Relay 3
The wires on the fan side of those connectors are a different color of course. So the answer is that there are three positive wires for each fan. Which wires are hot at any give time depends on the condition of the relays.
