Question Coolant Temp Sensor Issue

Hello All,

Was getting tuned on the dyno with my freshly rebuilt motor with single turbo swap and Apexi Power FC computer. As we were tuning we noticed both on the datalogit and commander screen the coolant temp reading would drop voltage and jump from the right temp to -37degrees c and back again.... Just want to verify I got the right wire connected and figure out which wire it is at the ecu.

The wire I have hooked up to the coolant temp sensor is one wire that is yellow with red stripes or marks.....

I need to know which wire it is that connects to the ecu so I track down what is going on.

Thanks

Sensor itself or bad connection (at the sensor). For ECU wire, check the FSM.

I've looked at the FSM I cannot find it. All the circuit diagrams I have show the Coolant Thermoswitch but not the coolant temp sensor......

the sensor that provides temp info to ecu and commander is the sensor behind waterpump housing, it has 2 wires brown/black and green/white.

yellow with red stripe is not for coolant temp sensor, unless someone rewire the harnessw and change colors, plus there need to be 2 wires voltage and ground.

Ok so the sensor I was originally referring to is the coolant sender for the water temp gauge... (wrong one)

Thanks FC3S1991, I was tracking down the wrong sensor. I need to focus on the thermosensor behind the waterpump housing like you said. I do have the wiring diagram for that to the ecu.. I will check it out and report back...
