Water Temp gauges reversed?

Guys, about two years ago the factory gauge was disabled and the defi water temp on my dash was working. After the car went to a shop to get a few things done now the defi water temp does not work and the factory one does.

There is one wire that is loose under my dash that goes to the defi (white wire) but not sure how they got swapped.

Anyone have any ideas? Searched under water temp gauge and did not find anything that helped.

Thanks

Check the water temp sensor on the driver side of the block. It should be located adjacent to the oil pressure sensor. There may be a wire running to your gauge that was replaced with the stock harness. Then again, it may depend on where your gauge was spliced in.

Ok, well this FD is getting closer and closer to being done! A long road for her for really no reason since it has now 40K original miles.

Anyhow, I looked at the back of the two gauges and saw the boost vacuum and a wire going thru the dash down through the fire wall. Found them in the engine bay to find this two wire harness rolled up behind my brake booster. Not sure what the two wires are for so any old school Defi peeps have a idea?

This is a real old Defi -series setup. Knowing the 1st owner and all the high end cars he had I would say they were put in around 94. Looked on net but can not find a wiring diagram.

Thanks for the help guys.

Next is water injection and she will be done finally (well after the tune).

ok, seems to be the water temp cable that would of had a water temp probe on the end or it.
Wonder if they used that or somehow used the factory one. Will keep searching.........

Isnt the water temp that goes to the ECU more precise anyways? why not take this opportunity and wire it to that sensor instead? like where the Power FC takes its readings
