coolant system

my coolant buzzer keeps going off here and there. it SEEMS to be more of when i come to a stop, stays on for like 20 seconds or so, then turns off....... my temps are a constant 83 degrees and peaked at 90 on a VERY hot humid day this past weekend, i have no coolant leaks, and my overflow tank is full....so i don't think i really have a coolant problem? the wiring to the sensor looks fine, does this sound like a bad sensor itself?

u might need to burp the system...thats probably why your overflow tank is full.

So you think it's normal for the coolant buzzer to go off and there not be a problem ? When the car is cold you coolant recovery tank should not be full, there needs to be enough room in the tank for the coolant to increase in level as the car gets warmer. If the tank is full then when the coolant gets hot it push's the excess out on to the ground and then when it cools it doesn't recover all the coolant it's pushed out, for this to happen there must be someplace for it to pull air back into the system instead of coolant. You have a problem and if you don't locate it the next post you make will be the car overheated and what do i do now.

ok so this morning i checked the level thru the filler neck..... it was a lil less than a quart low.... let the car get to operating temp and it spit some more back out the filler neck.... topped it off and closed her back up. no more coolant buzzer. so now the question is, where did that amount of coolant go? i have no leaks and my oil is clean....

Unless your burning it in the engine it usually goes in to the coolant recovery tank located in the passenger side fender (front right corner. Since your sure you don't have a leak then you need to find out if your system is building and holding pressure. If your loosing pressure then your boiling point will be lower and you will push more coolant out, if you don't have pressure then you you won't pull the coolant back into the system when it cools (the same thing preventing pressure becomes your air leak and pulls air back into the system instead of the coolant) so I'm pretty sure you have a leak of some sort just no tell tale sign of coolant leakage. check your caps (AST and filler neck) to make sure they are in working order.
