Unhappy Coolant, somethings up

I went to warm up my car today and right when i turned it on the coolant light went on and had a long beep, so i made sure the car was cool, and i opened the coolant cap and i didnt see anything, i think im all out of coolant, what kinda of coolant should i replace it with, and before i had a ton of white smoke come out the back during start up during the cold, and i thought it could be o-ring failure, so maybe something is wrong, or maybe i was low on coolant, im not sure. what do you experts thing, any help please?

Fill it and burp it.

Some people use (like myself) use a mixture of coolant and distilled water. I usually try to go for around a 75% coolant to 25% water mix.

Just fill it up, burp it a few times and see if you are still experiencing a lot of white smoke on startup and the coolant buzzer/light. If you do still have those, you might check your spark plugs to see if you notice any coolant on them.

Jeez buddy you own an FD!?!?

You better read up, that is some elementary stuff that any FD owner should know longgggg before buying the car. Not trying to be a dick, but it sorta annoys me that FDs get such a poor reliability rep when 90% of the time the owner is at fault.

Sounds like the coolant o-rings are shot. You can add coolant and see what happens, but it if gets low again and there is no evidence of leaks, its getting burnt by the motor, hence the white smoke.
