Coolant Sensor question.

Ok so one day i started my car and the coolant sensor started going off. Those of you who have heard it know it is the most annoying thing ever. So immediatly i checked my coolant and it was full. So it took me a while to find the culprit and i believe i did but i need a little help from you guys. Im new to this car a little so bare with me. I noticed that the little wire on my ''coolant sensor'' (whats it called?) is not connected so thats my best guess as to what the racket is attributed to. So i can get a new one and replace it no problem, but my main issue is i dont know where the dang wire goes to? I've searched the forums forever ive read all kinds of material, wiring schematics. Alot so ive done my best to try and find out without asking but i guess i cant win. So here are some pictures if someone could just tell me or even better show me where the wire goes i would be very grateful. Thank you all.

That is the coolant level sensor.

It has a one-wire connection (white connector) that goes into the engine wiring harness on the drivers' side of the coolant filler neck. The wire eventually makes its way through the firewall on the passenger side of the engine bay and then goes to the gauge cluster. That activates the Low Coolant light on the gauge cluster.
