coolant seal fix in-a-bottle.....
coolant seal fix in-a-bottle.....
Well, out of totally having nothing to lose, I loaded up my car with PRESTONE SUPER SEALER (its in a metal can...never had seen it before) two nights ago and drove around for a half hour or so. It took forever to get the car started, and after the treatment and the drive the idle hunted and it ran kind of rough at low rpm.
So I parked it with a sense of "nothing ventured, nothing gained" and set about contacting various engine rebuilders. (The PINEAPPLE large street port is looking REAL good, by the way! )
So yesterday I get home from work, go out to start the car expecting a battle like the night before and to my total ******* amazement, it fired right up!
So I drove around for a while, taking it really easy, it seemed to be fine although I noticed I could hear a gurgling in the heater core on hard acceleration.
So I parked it last night, checked the coolant level after it cooled, had to add just a bit.
Then tonight when I got home, I went out and....it started and ran just fine again.
I have been out for about an hour, it seems to run fine.
I know, I know....this is only a stop-gap measure for now, but at least the car is not DEAD dead like it was before. Hell, the coolant level was right on the mark....didn't have to add a drop.
******' freaky, it is......
