You wouldn't see a bad coolant seal. it's inside the engine. If you had coolant seal failure you'll see white smoke out of your exhaust even after warm up. Sounds like you have a split radiator hose.
Just get a flashlight or an ultra-violet light (or whatever it is) that makes coolant glow and start lookign around. FD's with the stock coolant system need attention. As your first upgrade by new hoses and a new radiator along with a Miata or probe fan thermo switch.
And DO NOT drive the car with e sever coolant leak or you will blow an engine coolant seal and need a rebuild.

I would buy a whole new set of coolant hoses and replace all of them. Even if you fix the right one, it's likely the others are pretty old too.
Pinhole leaks can burst at any time, and if you burst a hose and dump your coolant you literally have seconds to *stop* the engine before it overheats and damages the motor. That is one way coolant seals go bad - from overheating after a coolant system failure.
Coolant seals leak into the engine chambers and leave the car as smoke out the tailpipe (or coolant flushed out through the plug holes if you unflood the engine).
