Coolant Lost, Found the Problem, What the heck is this now
Hey Guys i lost quite a bit of Coolant a few days ago with the failure of the Coolant Hose that runs from the Engine Block at the quick disconnect to the Hard Pipe running at the Firewall. I replaced the Hose from Mazda and eliminated the quick disconnect that was the cause of the failure at the Engine Block and just ran straight pipe to the Engine Block Pipe and replaced the mazda clamp with a flat screw band Clamp. No more leak. Now, since the loss of the Coolant not really knowing how much actually got lost, I decided instead of draining what ever remained in the Engine Block and the radiator I would get a Thorough Coolant Flush from my Rotary Shop. I decided to fill up what ever was possibly lost so i can get the car up and running and into a mechanic for the complete flush. Upon Inspection, the Filler neck was completley empty and the AST Tank was also completely empty. I looked at the overflow Tank, and there was coolant sitting in there around the F mark. I took off the cap on the Air Seperation tank aswell as the Filler neck. I began pouring half a mixture of Coolant with half Mixture of Water into the Filler Neck until i saw that the Filler Neck got full aswell as the level in the Air Seperation tank got Full. I then Capped the Air Seperation Tank, aswell as the Filler Neck. I started the car and it ideled just fine and the Water Temp Gauge got to Operating Temp and held Steady at 180 degrees Farenheit. I decided to take the car out for a spin so i can get the coolant flowing thoroughly, took it out on the highway and the Temp read a steady 180 degrees Farenheit. I came back home parked the car and called it a night. In the morning i decided to start the car again, soon as i started it within a second the Coolant Buzzer light came on. I check the Filler neck and Air Separtion tank to see if the coolant was full. Upon opening the Filler neck i saw no Coolant at all visible. Opening the Air Separation Tank i seen a low level of Coolant sitting inside put it wasnt close to being topped off. I then left both caps off, and then filled the filler neck with just over a glass of water until the coolant in the Air Separation tank got topped up and the Water was visible at the top of the Filler Neck. I capped both of them and started the car. No more buzzer and light was gone. I took the car to the gas station to get gas, and the operating temperature remained a steady 180 degrees Farenheit. When i parked at the Gas Pump, i decided to take a look underneath of the car to see if there was any leaks. Upon my inspection i found there was single droplet of Coolant dripping just underneath the Overflow Tank leaving a tiny pool about the size of Pop Bottle Cap. I then returned Home, parked the car, turn it off. Upon inspecting i see no more droplets hitting the pavement from the overflow tank, but see tiny little droplet on the plastic below the overflow tank ready to hit the floor. Could i just be having Air pockets in the System? is this the cause of why i saw no coolant in the filler neck in the morning and a much lower level of Coolant in the Air Seperation tank? with Air Pockets could that cause the Overflow Tank to leak a bit? to prevent air pockets should the Filler neck be capped shut when filling the air seperation tank, then have the air seperation tank capped when filling up the filler neck. Your thoughts

More than likely a leak.
Pressure test you coolant system, this will show up any more leaks. Refer to the manual for the proper air bleeding procedure.
After you are sure you have no leaks or trapped air top up you coolant, run you engine up to operating temperature. Re-top up you coolant and you should have no more problems.
Bump after 3 min WTF??

It sounds like you might be settling out air pockets. Could the drips be overflow from the filling process? I would start the car up on a clean surface and idle it for 10 minutes, staying close by in case the buzzer goes off. Then let it cool 100%, check for leaks and top off if necessary.
If you want to be absolutely positively sure, I would take it to a shop with a pressure tester.
Also, you said you replaced the block/heater hose on the drivers side. If the other hoses weren't replaced in the last 50k miles I'd make sure to go around and replace all of them before the same type of thing happens again.

An update for all you guys. I let the car sit for additional 2 hours since the last run to the gas station. Upon cold start got regular condensation in the exhaust, so much condensation that water was litterally dripping out the tail pipe. Got no Buzzer again which is good. Got the Car tempurature up to 180 degress Farenheit remained steady and i just kicked the Fans on for safe Protection. I stepped out of the car and inspected under neath the tank to see if any more coolant was dripping from the overflow tank. Nothing dry as can be. I went back in the car and let it run for an additional 5 minutes this time turning the fans off and letting the car get a little hotter. Got the Temps up to 205 degrees Farenheit went back to inspect the overflow tank, well there it started, steady drops hitting the pavement creating a small puddle. I went back in, turned the fans on got the temp back down to 180 degrees Farenheit stayed steady there with the Fans running. Went back underneath the car and it continued to drip steadly. I turned the car off the drops subsided from the overflow. What you guys think, got no buzzer this time, you still think the airpockets are slowly making there way out? i replaced the Filler Neck Cap this morning after getting the buzzer, and since then havent recieved the buzzer after topping things up. The AST Cap hasnt been replaced. I had the shop replace it 2 or 3 years ago, wondering if its the culprit? your guys thoughts.
