My coolant light came on after changing out my waterpump, new thermostat, new gaskets, filled up the coolant, and changed out the coolant level sensor..

I've done pretty much everything I could think of.. still the light and buzzer is on.. Anyone have an idea why??

Make sure you have "burped" the system completely, it sounds like you still have air in the system.

Exactly, burp it , burp it then burp it again. It will hold way more coolant than you would think.

 

Did the temp go sky high? Otherwise there is probably just an air pocket in the system, and it happens to be at the coolant level sensor.
I am having the same exact problem right now, weird.
My add coolant light came on and then went off, though, but under WOT my overflow tank is overflowing, but only under WOT. The only reason I know this is because my hood is off right now and it sprays onto the windshield.

 

OH.. its burped.. I been filling it, driving it.. my ast if full, and reserve is full. I could even see the level sensor under the coolant.. this is why I'm so puzzled?

I've tried three different sensors, and still buzzing..

My temp is fine.. My pfc commander is being relocated so I don't have the read out of the water temp.. but my oil temp never went pass 100 and stayed mostly around low 90's..

 

Your sensor could be bad, check the wires for it. Im guessing you probally already check the wires though, I know your not an idiot

 

I have checked the wires near the sensor.. and the connector..

Do anyone know if this wire goes to the ECU?? I'm assuming it does.. also which harness could it be?? any fuse involved with the level sensor??

I also have a weird issue.. when I shut my car down, all my accessories are on..

 

Does it come on as soon as you crank the car and stay on the entire time or does it come and go?

stays on after about 10-15 seconds after crank..

Also, my ABS light comes on..

 

Sounds like electrical wiring to the uninformed guesser.

Mechanic says the refill tube from the overflow tank can seat square to the bottom of the bottle and thus prevent overflow returning to the engine. Putting a bevel on the end of the refill tube might help if that is the problem.

 

try resetting the ECU.

I'm guessing its the electrical issue.. Any suggestion where to look?? I need to know if it goes into the ECU and which wire?? I looked at the manual but couldn't find any info..

 

There is a small wire (like 2-3" long) on the drivers side behind the p/s pump if it it came undone would cause your buzzer to stay on.

Is the stock gauge in the car working?

Mine did the same thing seems like a common problem, but my temp always stays nice and fine never had a real problem I figured it to be just a short or bad sensor changed it and it still went so I just put the music up so I did not have to hear that awful noise and then poof it was gone never to return. I did not do anything to make it go away it just decided to (GM)as in general motors itself away

Since the water pump assembly and all the re-wiring.. I'm having all sorts of issues..

 

if you ground the harness it should turn off. so you can trace the open, if that is what it is, from there

 

Mazda had the same problem with my car when they installed the reman last summer. They did some rewiring of their own to stop the coolant light from coming on. Today I removed the intake elbow and found the short wire in question (circled). My understanding is that this wire is coming from the sensor side, so where do you find the other wire that connects to this one?

Mazda's solution for fixing my problem was to run their own wire from the sensor to the wiring harness connection shown in the picture below. They then spliced into a brown white strip wire. This method works, I drained a bit of coolant so that it was below the coolant level sensor and the coolant light came on. I then refilled the coolant and the light did not come on. In case anyone wanted to know.

phil I had this same problem after fooling around in the area of the sensor. The wire coming out of it and going to the connector and the wire from the connector to the harness...somewhere in there was a problem. It buzzed for a week every time I got in the car. One day I took the connector off and moved the wires around and put it back and it didnt do it since then. The wire gets hard and cracks and you lose the ground (the coolant

 

take a good look around down by the oil sending unit and i bet you find a loose wire

 

so what was the outcome of this? I have the same problem now

 

anyone? It's really friggin annoying....I tried grounding the wire that goes into the thermostat housing.....the one with the black connector is the level sensor right?

 

Finally went off.. i have no clue what I did.. all the sudden.. while I was driving.. the buzzer and the light went off.. Only thing I still have on is my ABS light.. which buddy in Columbus has my Mazda ABS checker..

 

haha, nice.....I fixed the problem. I removed the AC and had the ground plugged into the wrong plug

 

I'll bring it to u at the revolution. If u need the abs pump, I can bring that to u too. I've decided to yank all the abs stuff out. Later!
