Exclamation coolant bottle bad leak

WENT OUT TO MY CAR THIS MORNING AND A HUGE SHOCK.....A PUDDLE OF GREEN LIQUID LAY IN FRONT OF THE BUMPER OF MY CAR ON THE PASSENGER SIDE!! I FILLED THE BOTTLE TO NORMAL LEVEL, AND THEN TOOK IT FOR A TEST RUN. AFTER 10 MINS CAME BACK AND LET IT IDLE....NOTHING FOR ABOUT A MINUTE...THEN CAME THE FAUCET... ITS COMING FROM THE BOTTOM LEFT SIDE OF THE COOLANT BOTTLE. AND WHEN I MEAN PUDDLE I MEAN PUDDLE. AFTER ABOUT A MINUTE OF COOL DOWN TIME, THE ADD COOLANT LIGHTS BEGINS TO SCREAM. HAPPEN TO ANYBODY YET??. I THINK ITS THE BOTTLE, ANY SUGGESTIONS.?????
THANKS GUYS.

You probably have a stock Air Separation Tank...You will need to replace it with and aluminum air separation tank...AKA= Aluminum AST ...you can get them from www.pettitracing.com.

If you're lucky. You may also have a blown coolant o-ring, which means it's time for a rebuild.

What the hell does the ast have anything to do with the overflow tank??

If you still have the ast, your overflow tank is not cracked, somthing is pressurizing the cooling system and pushing coolant out. I can tell you right now with 99% certainty the overflow tank is NOT cracked. If you really want to find out for sure, detach the front part of the pasenger side wheel well and take out the overflow to examine it. Looking at the number of posts you have, I can only assume you are a newb. Use the search (upper right hand corner of your screen) keyword coolant and get a big cup of coffee.

That sound is due to gas in the cooling system (could be air or exhaust). If it is exhaust, it's time for a rebuild.
When the car is cool, remove the filler neck cap and fill up the coolant, leave the cap off. Crank the car up and let it idle to running temp, look at the coolant, if you see a small stream of bubbles (small champagn like) then get ready to dig out your wallet.

You are right down the road from Malloy Mazda, where you can get a reman for $2000 with a core exchange. As far as mechanics... someone else will have to chime in here. I'm sure there's lots of good ones in the DC area.

I think he was talking about the used motor. Most pf wont put in one used motor for another. he should however put in the reman.
