Control Arm Loose
Control Arm Loose
When doing my pillowballs I noticed that this part circles in the picture had a ton of play, should there be play there? My mechanic said that was okay but I think that might be one of my reasons for cluncking noise in the rear end. Anybody have some input on this?
Thanks,
Greg

That's used in aligning the car.
Think about it though - if there is movement then your alignment will be garbage.
Not to mention that arm is put under tremendous tension with the weight of the car on it. The play you can find on the bench will be amplified under working loads.
