Unhappy Continuing problems with Gauge Cluster!

For The past month I have had on and off frequent problems with my gauge cluster.

It all started after a wot pull ( car at operating temp 85 C), at first my tachometer was the only part not functioning. The needle became stuck at 4k then after making my way back home and turning off the car the gauge proceeded to move to 9k and stay at that position.

The next day I started diagnosis of the problem, upon starting the car it was ovbious that the charging system was not working correctly. so I tested and the result was a bad voltage regulator in the alternator.

After having the alt rebuilt and charging the battery to get back to spec. I started the car again, and this is where it gets wierd.

All of a sudden the odo, speedo and the tach, do not function!
I decided to drive the car for a day and see what happens. while driving the odo does not work at all, the tach and speedo will jump back to life while driving usually when I hit a bump in the road.

I know other people have been in the same situation as me, I searched and found quite a few people with this same problem. to name a few Dale Clark And Turbo Blue.

Turbo blue has a great write up on how to fix the Odo, I replaced every capacitor that is on the circuit board beneath the speedo.
this did in fact fix the Odo it works flawlessly.

After searching the forum for more answers or possible fixes for the tach and speedo to no avail, I turned to the Body electrical manual section C-1. and followed the flow chart for diagnoising the gauge cluster. after completing the chart the end result was that there is something else seriously wrong with the cluster

So my question to every body else on here that might care or have the same problem is, Has any body had these same kind of problems, and have you had any success in fixing the problem without spending a ludicrous ammount of money to fix the problem?

I have read on here that FDnewbie fixes cluster at a reasonable price. On the other hand from what I have read the turnaround time and Coustomer satisfaction have left alot to be desired.

Thank you for your time in reading this, hopefully somebody has the answer I am looking for.

One more thing does the Cas and Coils have any imput to the Tach or speedo.

Bashing in my head silently.
