Compression Tests in Japan?
Compression Tests in Japan?
I'm thinking about importing an FD from Japan. The importer I am currently dealing with from what I've been told and from what I've found out has a very good reputation.
However he said this...
Do they do compression tests in Japan?
I feel kind of silly asking that, but since I don't live in Japan and don't know anyone who does I can't verify this. Unless I'm interpreting what he typed the wrong way, this struck me as kind of odd.
Tip of the day: Diet Pepsi Wild Cherry tastes horrible.

We don’t have compression figures and it’s very unusual to get these in Japan, it’s not something we can usually get, sorry.

Depending on who you bought the car from. Auctions for the most part, AFAIK, do not compression test cars.
However places that sell Rx7s / Specialize in Rx7s: Makers 7, R magic, Total 7, etc... will do a comp. test, and checkup.

When i visited makers 7 in fukuoka (granted i made a special appointment before hand), they still gave me a run down of all the cars (comp. tests, everything), and all the stuff they do to make them tip top shape. I even got a solid 20 - 30 min. test drive of one of their 2001 Rx-7 Type R Bathursts. Their cars are more expensive though.
