Exclamation Compression Check results? I'll make it quick. YES I HAVE SEARCHED!!

While troubleshooting had some loud backfiring. So loud i decided to do a compression check using the www.rotaryresurrection.com method with a piston engine tester. (first test) Front and rear bounced in the 30-35 range no skips. (second test) overall compression value the front goes up to 85-90 THE WEIRD PART and slowly drops down to 0 . I thought maybe the tester did rear and it held 120 went back to the front and did the same test in trailing and got the same results. What Dose this mean???
Car hasn't left the garage in a year
was cold when i did the test
single turbo
ported. cant Recall if it was street or bridge
No cat or emissions
I don't think any other mods would have an effect on compression. My harness looks like something my GF made me for dinner. Im tired of trying to hunt down the ghost in the machine. So im ready to rebuild wire harness and everything else from the block up to make shore its done right. But before i spend another dime, Do I need a new engine?

Not as quick as i thought
FD R1 = F**KING Disaster Ran Once
YES - NO works 4 me
Thanks Guys

keep doing the comp test till you get consistent results ... good or bad.

Buy a new wiring harness. Take the car to the nearest reputable rotary shop.

Results are meaningless if the car is not warmed up. The Rotary Resurrection instructions are good but they fail to mention that point.

That's not completely true. Even a cold compression test can at least tell you whether or not all faces are consistent and a relative idea of the health of the engine. Yes, it's not an exact reading, but in most cases the variation cold/hot isn't the difference of a good or bad motor.

thanks for responding guys. the comp tests are consistent. its a pettit ecu and almost all my problems are due to the bad harness. i can fix every thing else using the search button here but i dont understand why the front rotor would be leaking compression ?

If the the compression was equally low on all faces on the front rotor then that would typically mean housing damage. Cold or hot engine, if you are reading 20-25 PSI on compression, you have a real problem.
