Like others said, most of the attention fades when they find out it's Mazda.
The question I've gotten a few times is 'What size is the engine?' 1300cc's...
'You're BSing me, something that looks like that has to be faster than that' Well, that's what the 2 turbos are for...
'2 turbo's? now you're really BSing me.'

And the people that think to know what type of engine is in it.
The best one was 'that has one of those propeller motors doesn't it?'

Trust me I was a little shocked. I found out from my friend the next day that there was a concert going on in the area and it let out about 1 and I was on my way home from the club that I left early at like 1:30. Definately doesn't happen everyday. I get a lot of attention from the local PD. I'm not sure if it's good or bad attention, but it's definately attention I could stand to go without regardless. I can't drive my car without at least one jackass trying to race me...G35s, SRT-4s, Mustangs, etc. I just stay in the slow lane going the speed limit and I can tell it drives them insane.

Some actually asked me if my car ran off of Doritos.

I had an older gentleman pull up to me at the stop light in his Mercedes 500 SL. He rolled the window down and asked me all sorts of questions. The first being what year it that? He then complemented me on the car just as the light turned green.

A few times I have had people call it a viper but not a corvette.

guy said to me once "WHAT CAM U GOT IN THERE"

cop gave me thumbs up after i did 1-2 pull and shot a fire ball. That was cool becuase i didn't see him when i did the pull and he didn't give me a ticket

girl said to me " **** THIS ****, ITS TOO GOD DAMN LOUD"

random dude on the street said "damn is that a Vette bro"

some kids pulled up next to me once and asked me "how many turbos you got",
my response "8" they went nuts, ohhhhh no way he got 8 turbos SICK !!!

Do any of your conversations follow like this:

me: "Its twin turbo, but I am thinking of going single turbo soon, hopefully t04z"
them: "Why, two turbos is always faster and quicker then one, if you go to one turbo your car is going to be slower."

why does everyone think that going with one turbo is slower. At that point in the conversation I politely excuse myself and leave.

Well it's not quite a compliment per say, but I did get out of a ticket by proving to the cop that Mazda DID make a stock twin turbo car lol

Yes, lot's of attention. ussually goes something like this:

"What is it?"

"A '94 RX-7."

"Does it have a turbo?"

"Yep, two."

"Wow! I sure like this style more than the new ones."

That's when I just cringe; An RX-8, fine car that it is, is not an RX-7!!

Talking

Yah its usually dudes that jock. It's cool i guess, as long as we're on the same level knowledge-wise. i'm not trying to explain how rotary engines work or go down the list of how many hours i worked on my car or how much of my own very hard-earned dineros went into my speed addiction. Just being real...

But i wouldnt want to be around a girl that just likes me for my car anyway... usually superficial, usually don't have anything interesting or funny to say and they usually suck at ... um... sucking anyways ....

This one time after she got hers n it was my turn, i just got up and left ... o, wait, im getting off topic ...but, ugh, it was such a dissappointment

Just recently 3 of my friends said...

"It looks like a Batmobile !!"

3 times in 1 week.

Two of them are very cute females, so i was just like "THANK YOU" ja ja

girls make me happy ...

Yup, and ironically the person who constantly debates with me on this subject is my friend, another car guy, an MKIV supra owner at that.

Who rather go BPU than a big single

funny thing with me, i have a black FD with pitch black tints and in jersey they are illegal but whose looking right, any ways i was at the light on my way to school and a cop pulls up next to me and the guy is hanging out the window trying to talk of my radio, i dont like cops so i just looked at him like nothing was wrong and took off at the green light. and literally after i drove around the bend the ****** pulled me over, i whip out my DL, insurance and reg. cuz i pretty much already know the drill and when he come up to me he told me to put everything away beause the reason why hes pulling me over is becuase he wanted to know if my car was turbo or not, I told him it was twin turbo and he goes " oh **** twin turbo eeeeh....i bet this bad boy moves huh, well take care of it shes beautiful" and walked away and peeled out in his police car, coolest cop ever!!!

also people have came up to me asking if its a vette, viper, how many pistons, who makes it ect ect....people are retarted, i just go with them like " yea, its a viper dumbass, V-10 uh huh u got me" hahah

I was recently at a car show that advertised for every year, make & model car, but all it was older American Muscle.....I was like f*ck it I am gonna show my car anyways.. I must have had this conversation a thousand times:

"What is it?"

Me: 1993 Mazda RX7

"Oh, what kind of power are you making with it?"

Me: Right around 300....

"Damn! I didn't know it had that much, that is more than my *insert muscle car
here*!!!!"

Me: And I only weigh 2800lbs!

"WOW!! Nice ride....I guess you car does belong here then"

Just nice to see some die hard muscle heads diggin an import!

i think ur friend has a mild case of being retarted, ESPECIALLY if he owns a supra i mean COME ON! he should know this.

Its not a mild case though and i already know he's retarded.

But at least to my defense and his stupidity, my car will always be faster than his then lol.

Zack,

ive only had 1 person ever say they didnt like either of my FD's.

a couple weeks ago i was visiting my friend (dvd on this forum) at his job at AT&T Wireless in Daly City. i saw a red late-model Camaro in the parking lot and commented to dvd that i thought the (albeit monster-truck ride height) Camaro looked pretty aggressive.

People who know me know I'm an open-minded guy, and i'm NOT a ****-talker, nor a show-off.

Apparently other reps at the store were talking about my FD after i left.

I later found out that the sales rep with the red Camaro made all kinds of hateristic remarks about my car including the comment that he would "**** on that import" referring to my car.

he also told dvd it's really all about [straight line acceleration], and NOT cornering

typical Camaro owner.... of course he said this when i wasn't present

Camaro owners are NOT all like this, i know another multi-Camaro owner in Oakland who's actually one of the coolest and down-to-Earth guys i've ever met, but seriously, this red Camaro guy did a disservice to all Camaro owners by reinforcing the stereotype.

Anyone in the Bay Area wana take this guy up on his offer ?? ja ja

just kidding...

no i'm not.
