Complete blown motor asking price??

I blew my engine (dont know exactly whats wrong with it, but ive been still driving it for the past 3 weeks) and I have a buddy who wants to do a swap in his 1st gen rx7. He wants to rebuild the engine himself, and swap it in. He wants everything, tranny, block, manifolds, turbo, ect. The tranny is fine, has an upgraded clutch, 99 spec turbos. I figured with the blown engine and all the rest of the stuff he would get, 1500 would be a fair price for a friend. What would you say? too high/too low?

Depends on the damage of the internals, turbos etc. I suggest pulling the turbos off and looking at them since those are worth that much alone. I bought a complete longblock with trans for 1000, the front housing was low in compression.

Thats fair for a blown block with 99 spec twins , tranny, and upgraded clutch. He cant complain for all that he is getting.

It is a crapshoot w/ out cracking the block to see the damage and checking the exhaust side of the turbos for seal exit. I would say its a good gamble for $1500 w/ all the accesories. G

Don't used 99spec twins sell for $1500 alone? It should be fairly easy to pull them off and inspect them.
