common egi circuit problems

Ok so I recently had a problem with my egi circuit fuse blowing. What I basically want to do is start a new thread so the next person that has this problem finds some answers. When I searched I didn't find many posts about this.
Basically there are a few things if you have this problem that could be common causes that could be the root of this problem. I just want to list them off as a reference so others have a quick guide as to what to check.

1) check for loose wires or bad grounds from battery to fuse block and or shorted wires due to bad insulation or cut insulation.
2) If you have an aftermarket fuel pump check for a bad ground there as well or crossed wires or shorted wires
3) Loose wires on ECU harness
4) Loose injector wires or wires to harness

Now my particular problem was first caused by a bad fuel pump relay in conjunction with some wires that had come in contact with one of my pulleys and the alternator belt. Check around moving parts such as those to see if you have a cut wire or something has been burned through. In my particular case it was the wiring leading to the injectors that had come into contact with the pulleys and belt and the wiring had been cut straight through.

If anyone else has run into this problem and has another area to look at please add it. For those that may encounter this problem I hope this helps as vague as it may seem.

What were the symptoms?

Basically I was driving under boost, all of a sudden the car stalls and dies so I was like WTF? I go to crank it... no sound of fuel pump. Check my fpr and gauge on it, no fuel pressure. I check the fuses. They appear to be ok, but then I took a closer look at the EGI fuse and it was toast. I replaced the fuse and the fuel pump relay didn't click so I replaced it. Next time the car starts but then the fuse goes again, but this time the belts were moving enough to fully burn through that wiring I spoke of. I was grounding out there before on the block but I didn't really notice it until a puff of smoke from the belts burning through.

Thank you for this information. My EGI fuse just blew last night and I am trying to diagnose the problem.
