Combustion Leak Tester report

Bought a combustion leak tester. Fairfax Auto Parts in Virginia. $40.00.

Included a tester tube, 2 fittings, hose and fluid. The tester tube has a funnel shaped plastic end that you insert into the radiator opening and the other end has a plug with a fitting. You pour tester fluid (blue) into the tester, plug the other end, run the hose to your vacuum nipple.

Assuming the car is fully warmed up with the radiator cap off the whole time from cold start to warm up, you stick the tester with the funnel end into the radiator opening. Engine vacuum sucks air vapor through the fluid.

If you have combustion gases in the cooling system, it is supposed to turn from blue to yellow when the combustion gases move through the tester fluid.

BTW, this thing is great for sucking air out of your cooling system.

Well, in my case, it didn't turn yellow. Did it 4 times to make sure.

Haven't driven the car since the 3rd block weld so I don't know if I'm losing coolant internally. Will have to report back after I drive it to work today.
