Cold Air vs Open Element Intake (recend products)

I'm about to go HMIC and I think my RE Amemiya intake is gonna get in the way...do you guys think I should stick with open element (HKS etc.) or cold air (M2 etc.)
I'm thinking cold air is nice cuz it's cool and since it will be forced into the airbox with the airflow, won't it flow just as good? Have you guys seen the new knightsports cold air intake :spooj!:

P.S. yes I know how to search...I want fresh input, and does anyone know the cost on that KnightSports bad ***?!

Well, I "hear" the fresh air boxes are a little better. Then there's always the argument that the air gets superheated next anyway...so what's the point... Personally? I think the box "Looks Better" on a car with stock twins... Some of the open air elements are kinda ghetto looking...

HOWEVER: How many single guys use a box?

how many single guys use a box......none have to because single turbos dont friggen fry and sizzle like the overheating underachieving stock twins.

the open intakes are sucking hot air straight from the hottest part of the engine bay. that aint good...

Ive lost two motors due to heat...and every single way that helps cut heat is good with me...five degrees here...ten degrees there...I dont care if its two degrees...if its less it is good....Im not cooking another motor.

rotary reliability and racing makes an affordable pettit style intake...it has a bit of a lid tood...thats the one Ive got

Hey if you've got the cash go with the cold air. They are just a bit better. But in my opnion, the open elements are just as good.

I bought Rx7fashions intake. You can get it at Ricksrotary.com or Rx7fashion.com.

It looks cool and works great. It also leaves a big gap between the IC and the intake for the radiator to let air to escape.
