Clutch Wedge Collar Movement

I am installing a new clutch in my 7 and have got the transmission back on and the release colar snapped into the wedge collar. I was wondering how much movement there should be of the wedge collar?

The wedge collar and throwout bearing should be able to slide about 1/2" front to back. In normal operation, it should remain snugly pulled back to the rear.
