Question Clutch smell and light dust smoke! Clutch choices?

Hey Guys,

So recently I started smelling a bad smell from inside the car , like when you burn the clutch! it happens whenever I use the clutch peddle in the traffic! I have an EXEDY STAGE 1 with ACT Flywheel.

Anyway, I guess it's the Clutch , I had it for 2 years and barely drove my car, so I was looking to replacing the Clutch with a SPEC Stage 2 Clutch.

What do you guys think?
Any other suggestions?

Thanks

That clutch should have lasted much longer than that. Going by your sig, I don't think you're making a ton of power, I have the Exedy Stage 1 and it holds awesome.

Could be something not adjusted right with your clutch hydraulics, if it's constantly dragging and not fully engaging/disengaging that will wear a clutch out crazy fast.

Or, if you're slipping the hell out of the clutch in stop and go traffic, that's hard on a clutch.

What mods do you have and how much power are you making? Personally I am not a fan of Spec. ACT or Exedy only.

How experienced of a stick driver are you? Maybe you are actually burning the clutch in heavy traffic?

And if it does need to be replaced avoid Spec like the plague.

You may have developed a bad habit of keeping your left foot on top of the clutch pedal even when you are not shifting gears. Start using the dead pedal after every shift

ummm... 11 years lol, my daily Altima 2.5 S is also a stick shift, so I don't think it's me.

Okay, I can see oil leakage from the oil pan on the floor of my garage, could it be the oil leakage's smoke when it passes on the hot downpipe while driving?
because now, the light smoke and smell come only when after a hard acceleration/drive.
So now I have another problem of engine oil pan leak, Strange I just replaced the Oil Pan gasket with a new one from Mazda

Oil pan leak probably wouldn't get anywhere that would smoke where you could smell it except in small amounts at highway speeds. If you are smelling it after hard acceleration I would look for a leak higher up, maybe around the oil feed for the turbos. Also look for coolant dripping on exhaust from turbos, those lines failing is pretty common.

Is the clutch actually slipping/behaving badly, or you just smelled something that smelled like clutch?

Oil pan wouldn't affect the clutch, but blowing a rear main seal might.
