Exclamation clutch slave cylinder???

Hey again guys,

From those of you who read my last threads about piecing back my gearbox and clutch, i've run into yet another dilema....

My clutch slave cylinder...

When going to pop it back into the gearbox i noticed the piston inside had worked its way out.. when pushed it back in (boot on cylinder frayed and nipple part came away from slave body) and tighened it all up...

Went into the car and the clutch pedal was on the floor... Got a friend to help me bleed it and when pumping the clutch (with his hand) no fluid coming out of the bleed valve, even though the resivoir is full (to the line) and zero pressure bulit up after 5 min...

And the nipple is resting correctly on the clutch fork...

After a long time head scratching and searching old posts im lost...

It hardly needs to be running to build up a vacuum??

Any ideas ppl???

Is it a case of my slave has given up completely or any other suggestions?

Thanks again

Look around the back of the reservoir (towards the cockpit). The reservoir is actually separated in to two areas, one for the clutch (on the back) and the other for the brakes (the front visible side). This way if one drains empty it doesn't drain both. Make sure BOTH sides are full.

I would purchase or borrow a Power Bleeder or MityVac. Either one should help pressurize the line again and get the fluid going.

Be careful with the Power Bleeder and not apply too much pressure. Otherwise the bottom part of the fill container may "pop" out. If you still have problems, you may have to "prime" the master cylinder.

The output of the master cylinder comes out vertically from a horizontal plane when in place. However in the course of time, gunk builds up and collects within the piston area. I had problems with the clutch pedal sticking to the floor, once cleaned out it works fine now.
