Question clutch recomendation please..

hi,
i am thinking to replace and upgrade my clutch since i heve the engine disasembled.
can someone please recomend one with near to stock feel?
the car is estimated to about 400rwp and i want to keep the stock flywheel.
so i need a recomendation for presure plate and disk.
please point me what is the suitable set.

i hear very good thinks about exedy and act but i cannot understand the feeling as engaged.also there are so many kits that i cannot choose since i have no experience of clutches.

Since you want to keep the stock flywheel, I would recommend the ACT either the HD or the XT. Both will have more pedal pressure than stock, but sticking with an organic disc makes for a more stock feeling engagement. We recommend the SS disc with either pressure plate for street use. ^Yea what he said. I really would consider a act street light flywheel though. Its one of the best mods i did and its a noticable differance(in a good way revs quicker). Going with a new clutch your going to have to resurface the old flywheel anyway so you might wanna upgrade while its apart. I drag with my FD(475rwhp) with the street light and a act 6 puck running 10's and cutting as low as 1.45 60's(pretty consitant 1.5's) foot reving so dont let people tell you its gonna take away too much off the line lol. Now aluminum might be a little excessive and never ran one so couldnt tell you. Id pick the street strip clutch kit(either disk up to you) with the hd pressure plate its all you should need. I run the hd pressure plate with a unsprung 6 puck with no issues. Good luck

this increase in clamping force wories me a litle since i read that it can end to a broken fork.i do not know if it is true or what alternatives i have.
for now the power levels are at the 400rwp but i am thinking also a future prospect.
thats why i am also thinking the single exedy and twin exedy .

banzai, you have many interesting products and i think you can answer many of my questions.
1)is there something i can do for the increased force to the fork?yes there is a newer version of fork but it seems to be the same...
2)these act p. plates works only with the act discs?can i fit another brand disk when the act disk whears?

exedy hyper single:
1) same foot force as the oem or the ACT?
2)what type of discs i can use? there is only one specific disk by exedy or i can choose from cerametalic and organic? can i use other brand disks?
3) the friction surfaces on the flywheel and the PP are cheangeble?if i damage these surfaces due to disc whear i through the asembly away?
4)max engine torque 460nm?

exedy twin:
1) what is the diference in sprung center and the lightweight center?

The Exedy Hyper single and twins disc do not use the stock flywheel, which you said you wanted to keep, so this precluded them from the recommended clutches. I will answer a couple of the questions, but you are going to have to do some research

There is not any aftermarket replacement that I am aware of. The OEM replacement does look the same, but is "supposed" to be a stronger casting. I have never had one break.

Yes you can replace the disc with a non-ACT, when it wears, as long as it is an OEM fit.


The Exedy Hyper and Multi require that you replace them with Exedy specific discs. The pedal feel is close to stock. Frictions surfaces are not changeable.

Sprung centers is for easier engagement, the twin disc ZM022SD is what I run on my 20B. Lightweight is exactly that lighter weight.

The CW is installed on the e-shaft, then the flywheel and clutch assembly bolt to it, same is true for the ACT lightweight flywheels.

The ACT clutches come with new OEM bearings and seal, the Exedy do not. They are all pull style for use with the factory trans.
